This message is intended for the WoWriot portal and does not necessarily apply to Starfeeder and Hellforge.

A few months ago I said that as long as it didn't get out of control we'd let the the occasional off-topic blog slide. Well, its officially out of control now.

WoWriot is for discussing WoW. There just so happens to be a ton of people here who are extremely knowledgeable about World of Warcraft. Not about politics. Not about religion. World of Warcraft. And if any of you have ever taken a cl…

A bonus Epic Drop for your reading pleasure tonight.  Generally the Epic Drop comes Early Monday morning till early Friday morning.  But thanks to my busy schedule this week and lack of a blog Thursday I figured another edition wouldn't hurt one bit.  Plus I need you guys to help answer a key debate among my friends, read on!

Few people liked Spiderman 3.  While Venom looked amazing they really focused on too many story lines and didn't give him the screen time he deserved.  The good news…

Chat with Devs: Something I noticed during our recent shows at Games Convention in Leipzig and PAX in Seattle is that many new players trying out the game who played Zerg built several creep tumors, thinking they were either defenses or going to morph into defenses. This eventually lead into a conversation with Dustin about why Creep Tumors no longer morph into base defenses. For those who dont know, a Creep Tumor is a building which expands creep around it significantly. Building this building …

As the game industry matures and the room in which to innovate becomes smaller and smaller the quality of video game clones will become increasingly important. Well, important insofar as gamers want to have good games to play.

How many times have we seen games that simply clone other games to achieve success? It happens all the time. Unfortunately, those clones fail to deliver something worth playing as much or more often than they succeed. Hellforge's Sol recently made a list of the top five bes…

This week's Top Five is going to focus on the rest of the rest of the year and what lies ahead on the gaming release calendar.  These are the top five games yet to be released in 2008.  Spore gets booted off of the list because it comes out this week and I have already played it, more on that another time.

This year has been huge so far in the gaming world.  Another record setting sales year is bound to happen and some huge titles have already graced our presence like GTA4, MGS4, Mario Kart, B…

IRVINE, Calif. -- Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that a wide selection of music from its popular games has been added to the iTunes store. Much of this music was originally available only in collector's editions of the games, or at special events such as the company's BlizzCon® gaming convention. Well thanks to some confusion between me and Kyle there was no Epic Drop while I was in Chicago.  However I am now home and can now continue with the greatness that is your late night news and discussion.

Obama and McCain are now tied according to the latest CBS poll.  Sarah Palin's speech was a rousing success last night, invigorating the Republican base.  The election is heating up and November will surely be the stage for one hell of a battle.  I will still "throw away my vote" accordin…

(Slayers_`Boxer` & Leader, left to right)

Kim Chang Seon (김창선) aka Leader was a legend among the Terran players from back in the day, the last event he played in was a Blizzard event where he took 2nd, just behind everyone's favorite foreigner ex-pro gamer, Grrrr.

While he doesn't compete anymore, he still looks forward to the upcoming events that happen throughout the year, so much t…

It is that time of year as tonight was the opening day of the NFL's 2008/2009 season.  I follow the NFL pretty habitually as not only am I a big fan but I also play and run numerous fantasy football leagues.

This year's season has a variety of story lines that are worthy of attention and possible drama that rival a Ming blog post.  Here are some of this year's hot topics:

1.  Will the Giants repeat or even continue to be a success?  Will Eli Manning face the fact that he isn't Peyton and re…

With Starcraft 2 releasing in the semi-near future (/sigh feb 09), I've decided to start blogging. I'll skip the intro of who I am and all that crap and jump right in.

The Beginning
I started playing Starcraft in 2000, my freshman year of high school. I was a big FPS player, mostly into Team Fortress Classic. One day, a friend of mine was talking about some game that he played. I started asking questions and eventually the idea of an RTS sounded ludicrous to me. I said he should try out TFC. He…

Harmonix sneaked out a Rock Band update today which tweaks a few gameplay matters and also includes the often talked about track converter feature.

This conversion add-on will allow users to export Rock Band songs to their hard drive taking up 1.5GB of space and make them playable in Rock Band 2 minus the lame ass disc swapping.  The "service" will run $5 to cover the additional licensing fees of having the music play on another game, at least that is what I suspect.  It could just be a quic…

According to Starcraft2Forums.org, they have learned through a 'secret' source some information about the Xel'Naga in regards to the single-player campaign in StarCraft 2.

Apparently they are playable in certain missions:

According to an anonymous e-mail the Xel'Naga will play a similar lore role to the Old Gods from World of WarCraft who were imprisoned for a long period of time before being freed. They will supposedly seek revenge upon the Zerg for the destruction they have wreaked on the Univer…

According to a post made on the Demigod forums earlier today the first phase of beta testing will begin tomorrow, September 4th. Demigod has been making waves in gaming circles due to its apparent inspiration: the insanely popular Defense of the Ancients map for Warcraft 3. With fully 3D graphics, completely new heroes and some distinct gameplay differences from DotA its anyone's guess as to whether Demigods will end up spoiling a winning formula or improving on a good idea.
Being a long time D…
