See high res here.
These images of from Final Fantasy 13 recently sprung up on the internet. You can check out more these shots from a HD feed of the trailer in real time below. Click on each image for higher resolution shots.

You can check out the full gallery here over at IGN. Be sure to check out the new shots of FF13 Versus as well which just showed up this week.
Â
These shots look pretty damn incredible. When I first saw these a commenter noted that it looks like next gen armpits have arrived according to the first image. The ice image is absolutely fantastic, even for a pre-rendered background. And again, these images are all taken real time from the game and not mock ups, art, etc.
Â
If this doesn't make you salivate over graphics I don't know what will.

I prefer changing CDs to waiting on 2-3 minute installations (MGS4) haha
I really laughed when I heard that MGS4 had to reinstall between every chapter... they said they'd never put MGS4 on multiple cds, thats like 10 times worse.

I disagree. Having to get up to to change disks is a far bigger hassle then a couple minute install every 3-5 hours. The install you don't have to get up for, dig in to the game case, etc.
Besides, we are talking FF13 here, not MGS =p

The time to change disks is much less than the time it takes to install.
Also, FF13 by reports seems like it will be more than 1 blue ray anyway so installs + changing for you lol

It isn't going to be more than one blu-ray. They can pack 50GB on to a blu-ray disk. Possibly even 100GB by the time it comes out.

I'm willing to swap disks if it means I don't have to waste my money on a ps3.

Im not willing to swap discs, or pay for online play, or be without my console for a few weeks while it is constantly being repaired.Â

Buy from somewhere that doesn't make you wait a few weeks.
And I can afford 4-5 bucks a month for a good online service.

I've had my 360 for 2 years, it's never RROD'ed at all, therefore 360 > PS3 until mine RRODs.

I have a 360 only and I know for a fact 360 has many more titles to offer, but I would rather get a PS3 for this game, its a better machine even though finding good games is like finding hot chicks in the artic.

That no games crap is older than you, quit trying to drum up false claims of a lack of good games on the PS3. That statement hasn't been valid for almost a year now.

If you printout a list of games the 360 has more and a lot better titles compared to Ps3- big difference son. Your just not mature enough to realize this, nesting with your Sony cronies.

Keep telling yourself that. The numbers say otherwise. http://www.edge-online.com/features/whats-with-wiis-low-review-scores . The image appears to be gone from the article, but here are the statistics.

There are 477 games out for the 360, 326 for the PS3. With that many games it becomes "which games are better", not "who has more". And the PS3 game review averages are clearly higher.

Different numbers of sales, significantly for each product. More waste is created for the Wii and the X360 due to popularity, thus decreasing the rating percentage for them.

360's best games are all on PC except for Halo 3. I have all three systems, love them all, prefer playing on a big HDTV than a monitor so I almost always opt for the console version over PC. But please...if it's some kind of pure fanboy war, PS3 definitely has the superior lineup of actual exclusive games.

Well said sir.Â
Almost all the quality 360 titles come to PC, and that suits me just fine.

PC gaming will always have a special place in my heart, but I need to rant:
I HATE PC SOFTWARE I HATE OPERATING SYSTEMS I HATE WINDOWS I HATE DRIVERS
I put together a PC this week for someone and it wouldn't log into Windows because of the video card and lack of drivers. So I go through safe mode which I couldn't connect to the network since it said "validate your Windows in normal mode first", which of course I couldn't. I was going to just load in drivers from a disc but then randomly XP had an nt kernel error and wouldn't log on. Then I couldn't use the one xp recovery disc I had because the admin pass wasn't working. Then after getting a different disc and reloading windows (because I didn't want to reformat and lose their hard drive's data), it finally boots up, and then I can't find drivers for the wireless card, or even figure out what the card is.
This, in itself, is reason enough to praise the design of consoles (including 360). PC's have the best tech, are the most fun to tinker with, but holy ****, they are frustrating to deal with. The fact all that nonsense can even happen annoys me. I also don't like that I have random crashes in various programs (like Nestopia running it online) or LotRO despite no problems elsewhere, and there's almost no way to troubleshoot the problem. I also hate shelling out like $800 every two years. But I'll keep doing it just so I can play PC games. Am I a sucker?

If you are I am too. Though I upgrade in waves. It is cheaper that way, maximizes resale for old parts, etc.
I have been pretty good system wise and a lack of issues lately. Recently went to 64bit vista without one hitch at all and I am loving it vs 32bit.

I don't like to upgrade in waves since I hate having bottlenecks and feeling I'm not getting the most out of a videocard or processor. I suppose I don't always upgrade my case, motherboard or hard drive though. Although the change to IDE to SATA is kind of annoying, I hate having to upgrade motherboards.

I make sure I don't bettleneck. Part of that which helps is a 24" display. If i stepped up to a 4870x2 from my 3870x2 on this q6600, I would probably bottleneck were I not on such a high res.

They're screenshots from the cinematic.
Hate to break it to you, but gameplay graphics are completely different.

Considering the moments around 1:52 are the only in-game footage around, and it looks pretty similar, I'd say you have no idea just how well the two compare other than the transitions shown there.Â
Look pretty spot on to me.

You really hurt my feelings with that first statement. Really.
All I was saying was that you can't watch a cinematic and say "Well hey I bet that game's going to be good", because it's saying absolutely nothing about the GAME itself.
Sure it's a cool trailer, but I wouldn't bet my money on it being anything ground-breaking or "next-gen".

Sooner or later they will tire of making Final Fantasy's and make a sequel, that's the hope that I cling to anyway.

I liked a few of them but 10 was as well the one that could really excite me that much.
I'm pumped over this, but I'm assuming those are just FMVs and well, lots of FF games have had FMVs that good.

That third picture, with the frozen sea, totally ripped themselves off from Chrono Cross.

Kill yoursel-
I mean, I disagree. A frozen sea is hardly a copyrighted idea. Our planet's seas have been frozen over in the past.

You don't get it. They do not have 'ice' on them. They are frozen in the sense that their motion has stopped, the waves are stuck in time (and in dramatic fashion like Chrono Cross).

It looks great imo from a lighting perspective but i really wish square would get off their ass and start working on more realistic skin textures. That honestly is some pretty fake looking skin (like always)
