Since I was one of the only people with a computer network out of all my friends back in 98 my house was often the gather place for some LAN games. Granted back then we only had 4 computers linked up in a T-Base network (ewwww).
But these days my rig is a little more sophisticated. I have a 24 port switch that is fed by a 24 port patch panel which runs network cable through my entire basement. My basement is indeed setup for pretty much gaming only. In one room I have a massive executive desk with enough space to comfortably fit up to 6 players. In the room across the way I have a less polished room with card tables setup to fit another 6 players.
Every weekend for a few years now I've had people over on one night or another to play SC. Over they years it has grown from some small 2v2 games to a larger party where we have had as many people as 16 and we will sometimes run tournaments throughout the night. Recently I actually started our own blog as well at www.scbattlegrounds.com which contains updates so people who miss a weekend can keep up to date and sometimes we'll post replays of some of the better games and of course we keep stats for all of our gaming fun.
Despite all of the time I've invested in this game I grew up with I would still say I'm a mediocre player at best. This of course does not mean I'm not competitive. The games that go down with my buddies these days are very tense and competitive (for us at least) and we're always looking for an edge over one another.
Recently I started playing on ICCUP as wel to try to improve my 1v1 game play but am still currently ranked a D. Hopefully I can learn a thing or two from these Korean kids since I've been watching so much of GomTV recently.
If anyone ever wants to 1v1 me shoot me a message and I'd love some practice. Or if anyone feels like mentoring me in the ways of Terran I would much appreciate that as well since they are by far my worst race right now. Anyways, I'm sure I'll see you all around and hopefully I'll learn a thing or two about SC from this community and of course I can't wait for SC2 and hope that the sequel packs as much fun as the original.
Much Love,
Achaia

I'd be interested in a keen practice partner on iCCup. I play Zerg.

Ah, yeah agreed lol. So we are basically on opposite schedules just about right? If I did the math right you are 13 hours ahead of me. So if we played at 11:00 PM my time it would be 12:00 Noon your time the next day right? That might, work out, on the weekends anyways. Lemme know if you wanna get a game on this weekend.

This blog will contain the reportings of my progress as a StarCraft player and if I manage to get into the SC2 beta I of course will inform as much as I can based on my experiences!
