Which brings up the ultimate question of: What influence will it have on e-sports? As someone who has been working in the field for the past 10 years, this is the one and only concern I have.
Korea managed to build the greatest e-sports infrastructure in the world, and because of it we have the best leagues, players, and teams which means we have the b… More

![]() Oh boy, writing this brings back some good/bad memories, the good old days of the AMD Dream team. I guess I should start from the year 2000 right after when Hangame’s sponsorship was terminated. It was our decision to leave Hangame team because of their pay reduction. Giom’s winning rate wasn’t as good as before, so I don’t blame them for wanting to pay him a little bit less, but we didn’t like that very much at the time so I started to look for a new sponsor. Actually the new sponsor came to u… More

Things got off to a great start, just landed a great sponsorship deal with AMD and Giom was fairly doing well in the leagues so I couldn't have been more content. The name Dreamteam came about when I met 'Elky' at the WCG event in the 2002. Elky certainly caught my eyes and many others with his orange hair and a pair of sunglasses he constantly wore. ![]() What mostly impressed me was of course how good he was at the game. For the most part, outside of Korea you are 'gamers' and here in Korea you are 'athletes', they are cyber athletes if you will, because of the 12 professional teams and pro leagues we have, it legitimizes them. Why are they legitimized? Well for obvious reason, but to point out a few, you can be financially viable by being a ProGamer, and 2nd you become, in a… More

All right, let me begin by starting off where I left off last time, and if I do get off track I will get back on it whether in this blog or next so please understand, I am just going to write these down as it comes to me. Guillaume (XD’s~grrr) was immensely popular with the fans so naturally he was the most sought after ProGamer by the TV… More
