To clarify, the tournament coverage streams are free, but to watch panels, see new announcements as they are made, or receive the in-game pet, you will need to purchase the DirecTV stream.

This is great news to anyone watching at home whom will all have a better view of the Tournaments on their computers then even the attendees! High-Definition and Low-Definition streams will be available. Also remember that while the entire event live Stream will cost you $39.99 all the BlizzCon tournament streams will be free so tune in!
On the subject of BlizzCon, Razer is offering a contest to win a ticket for 2 and a hotel room to the event! Contest ends August 3rd, check out the details on their contest page:

This anticipation is almost like a physical presence, kind of like balancing a giant ostrich egg on your head and waiting for a zergling to hatch. Such a gruesome burden!

Great news about the stream. 
Bad news about the contest being only for residents of the US and Canada.

If only they announced that everyone who signs up for the DTV internet stream will also receive a beta key, even if for phase 2 of the beta or whatever. So much money would be made right there!
