Good video from what I saw. Kept it simple with good explanations for your target newbs. But you needed way more vultures for map control and tank defense :P.

 

Yeah def should have made more, also expanded to make more vulks

 

Srsly though, very nice to have a blog post directly about Starcraft, and people can learn something.

 

It was fun to make and I'll def to more and feature more by other players as well...

Watching this I've noticed more things I should have mentioned. Like when my first SCV was chasing his probe out, the probe went right to the 2 oclock base, I figured he was trying to mislead my scout so I went left instead.

 

Comstat probably would have been helpful too for watching those expansions.

 

Yeah that could have helped too, though an SCV or vulture is more economical and earlier way of stopping an expansion. Thanks for watching

I didn't watch the whole thing as I already know the basics.

Things to remember:

Get the vulture speed upgrade.
Try to expo faster.

The most recent build for Terran is to do 1 Factory and then take your natural. You can do this in many ways like fake double which is when you fake the two factory build and do a fake attack. When you move out with tank, a vulture + mind upgrade, and about 3-5 marines, the Protoss will think that you're going to pressure with two factories. When you push in close enough, you bring your units back and your expo should be going. Then you add more factories and macro.

For Protoss, I think it's normal to do 1gate tech and then expo or 2gate tech and expo. The recent playstyle is to get a lot of expansions and macro. Playing one base will leave you far behind.

I also forgot that the other way you can do 1fac expo is by getting 1factory then get shop ASAP. When shop is done, instantly build a tank and research siege. You should also have like 2-3 rines minimum and more as needed. Once you get around two tanks and the siege upgrade is finished, you can send your scv to make a CC while you siege up. While doing this build, you should also be careful of some fast DT. If you are able to scout a citadel then you should immediately put up an ebay and turret near your sieged tanks. After your 2nd expo is up and running you can add more factories.

It's also common to start building the second CC in your base before building or during the construction of the first factory. That way the CC itself is protected by your ramp defenses during construction, and by the time it's done you should have some vults or tanks to defend it. Then just macro it up and slap down 3 or 4 facts.
