The biggest Russian gaming expo called IgroMir has started two days ago, where SC2 was playeble and Chris Sigaty (lead producer) made a presentation about the latest updates on the game. However, most of the information seems to be the same as was said during the Blizzcon 2009, except that Sigaty confirmed:
Starcraft II Beta is pushed back to 2010. Release will be in Q2.
A Russian fansite Goha.ru made a really good coverage of the SC2 panel with pictures worth to see (there is still no translation of the article, but you can try out Google Translate). You can check out Blizzard's IgroMir website for more information, coverage and photos (coming later) too.

they haven't completely gotten enough servers up and running, plus they need to do a lot of coding to get battlenet going and ready on multiple servers for thousands of people.

the beta is being released in stages though. since russia is getting the beta later than us it's still possible that we could see the beta start in north america in the next month or so and the other regions will start up in the following months which would of course leak into the beginning of next year for those coming to the party late.
