Or E-Sport I should say

The Harvard Crimson online article (that our very own Peanut 'Christina J Kelly' wrote) reports that major universities are now getting together to help form a Starcraft collegiate league. 23 universities are already in the new league (C Starleague) which is barely a month old.
"In the last few weeks, 23 of North America’s top universities have signed up to join a brand-new competitive collegiate league. Students from McGill, Princeton, Stanford, University of Chicago, Yale, and Harvard have answered an irresistible call: the opportunity to introduce an entirely new game into the hallowed halls of college sports.
Instead of pads and helmets, this sport merely requires a computer, keyboard, mouse, and Internet connection. These tools are standard for any college student, and travel costs are negligible, since the opposing teams can play each other online. The game is “StarCraft: Brood War,” and by starting the Collegiate StarCraft League, the Princeton gaming club, “SmashCraft Heroes,” might be setting a new precedent in North America. However, it follows a model that has been tested for years elsewhere in the world with incredible results. " - The Harvard Crimson

If you all remember the match between Princeton and MIT, I believe those matches where a big catalyst in all this effort
The League, named C Star League already has a website up here:

Damn man, last week there was barely any news. Now so much SC / SC2 loving
And that is really cool, I wish main stream media would pick up on stories like this!

They will, I am sure - main stream media would love to sink their teeth into the next big thing. Considering how easily accessible eSports are (or can be, provided that the newcomer gets a good introduction), it has the potential to spread like news of free beer at a frat party - a sentiment that newsreaders happily would catch on to, I think. When the C Starleague crosses the Atlantic to the UK, I am ready with my mediocre but enthusiastic command of the Swarm
