Blizz pulls the plug...
Quote:
“It’s no mystery what transpired—Blizzard’s lawyers sent a Cease and Desist letter to the aspiring programmers, just after they released an update to the RTS with multiplayer support. It was fun while it lasted, wasn’t it?”

My Comment:
Blizzard sending the Cease and Desist letter to Starlite means there is a BIG POSSIBILITY Blizzard itself would be porting Starcraft to the Nintendo DS!
Remember when Blizzard did this to Project Revolution, a 3D Starcraft Mod for Warcraft III? We haven’t got a clue that Starcraft 2 development existed when they sent a Cease and Desist letter to Project Revolution!
So now they see how popular StarLite is! Our blog item, The Nintendo DS Starcraft game updated!… got a LOT of readers.
To Blizzard, this means there is great potential (Read: Sales) for a Nintendo DS Version of Starcraft 1!
Are you ready?

I hate to break it to you but this has nothing to do about a possible DS port. It's merely a case of a company trying to protect its IP.
The case is exactly the same as the old Aliens Quake mod back in the day, which had a cease and desist sent and the only thing that followed was a ****ty AvP game 5 years later from a totally different company/franchise.
Blizzard doesn't like people ripping off their ****, plain as that.

I was just alluding to the fact that if Blizzard did publish a Starcraft "lite" version for the Nintendo DS, that it would sell well.

oh I agree, though I'd hope to at least see some spruced up graphics and quality interface mods added to it...
How did grouping work on the bootleg version?

when i looked this up i got really excited but when i read the thing saying blizzard shut it down i got devistated. i know it would be hard to fit it in but i think if blizzard tried removing the blood on death and maybe lowered the detail on the units and buildings they could fit it in. they might half to change the talking in the briefing room and all but it would be a nice game.
