Vrogy is a 3D artist that has been working towards the creation of a full sized Terran Marine suit of Armor (StarCraft II Style). We first showcased his progress in this post.
Past the sketch/drawing phase now, hes started the 3D modeling in Cinema 4D.
He intends to in the future build a life sized Terran Marine armor suit, made of metal with full articulation...
That will definitely win the next BlizzCon costume contest.

I’ve been working on models to build the Starcraft II marine suit from. The first step is to rough things out in low-polygon resolution, that’s about done.
Next comes NURBSing to smooth things out and add details with an eye towards accuracy, then modeling of the mechanical exoskeleton which will, hopefully, make the suit wearable. Might end up using some of those fancy Solidworks CAE tools finally, too.

For reference material Vrogy's been using Blizzard artwork as well as modeling off his 3D statue of Tychus Finlay: http://www.vrogy.net/refs/sc2marine/statue/
He also states what how he plans to continue construction after the 3D modeling phase on his site here:

Construction TechniquesÂ
·        Lost Foam Casting is when a foam shape is packed in special sand, and molten metal is poured in. The foam melts out, and when the metal cools the shape of it is identical to the foam shape.·        Computer Numeric Control Milling is a method of controlling machinery to produce exact shapes in solid material.
·        Computer Aided Design lets the entire suit be 'made' before any molten metal is poured. All hinges and joints can be assigned specifications and stress-tested before any are made.
·        Surface Finishing via several distinct steps and with specific abrasives allow for fast removal of spurs and defects, and best possible finished part appearance.
Vrogy not only creations fanworks for the StarCraft universe, but other games as well, check out his Halo & Fallout work:
