meetup.com is a website where people can create groups or search for groups of people with like-minded passions, I haven't search for anything crazy like the Monkey back-rubbing group or anything like that, but it is an easy website to use and their Starcraft search is a great, fast and easy way to meet up with fellow SC gamers to LAN it up.  More

The website is a SC2 Blog as well and has a nice clean and simple dark theme. Some cool features on their site include a "show me your desktop" section where readers post up screenshots of their themes and icon clutter heh. He also has a section where he reviews current Starcraft maps, so new players can get a good idea on the type of maps out there.
